Paper Bag Popcorn

Popcorn is our favorite go-to snack, whether we’re watching a movie or doing schoolwork…especially now that we’ve discovered that we can just put regular popcorn kernels in a paper bag and microwave ’em!

Using these simple steps, it makes the perfect single serving:

Add 1/4 cup popcorn, 1 tsp oil, and 1/2 tsp salt to a paper bag.
Fold top over.
Shake.
Microwave (on its side)  for 2 minutes.

I put a 1/8 scoop in the popcorn jar, to make it easy for the kids to remember the “recipe”…

2 scoops, for 2 minutes 🙂

The oil and salt add flavor, but you can omit them.  I’ve done it both ways.

Kid-friendly, cheap, easy, and gluten-free!
Popcorn makes schoolwork more fun.  True fact.  😉
Notes:
Since microwave ovens vary, you may have to try it a time or two to see what cook-time works best for you.  Listen for the pops to slow down.

I have tried making more at a time, with increased cook-time, and it didn’t work as well for me.  The amount/time seems to work best for us.
The bowl above shows two servings.
